St. Eugene’s Church

S McConnell & Sons carried out stone restoration works at St Eugene’s Church in Moneyneena in 2024, helping to preserve the historic fabric of this early twentieth-century church. The works included cleaning and repointing the existing natural stonework, carefully restoring the appearance and integrity of the masonry.

Masonry, coping stones and kneelers at the main entrance were carefully restored and replaced where required, ensuring any historic architectural features were securely reinstated. We also repaired and rebuilt sections of the stone chimney at the sacristy, using traditional masonry techniques to integrate the repaired areas with the existing building.

The project demonstrates S McConnell & Sons’ expertise in natural stone restoration, traditional repointing, masonry repairs and the careful conservation of historic church buildings across the UK and Ireland.
