First Magherafelt Presbyterian Church
S McConnell & Sons carried out natural stone restoration works at First Magherafelt Presbyterian Church, including the repointing of the existing rubble stonework and restoration of the stone window surrounds. Weathered and damaged stone was carefully surveyed and replaced where required, including sections around the bell tower and architectural details within the front elevation. A number of coping and eaves stones were also replaced to restore the integrity and appearance of the existing masonry. The stonework was carefully descaled and steam cleaned, including around the windows, cills and bell tower, helping to reveal the natural character of the stone and refresh the appearance of the historic building. Our skilled stonemasons combined traditional masonry techniques with specialist stone restoration and cleaning methods to sensitively preserve the character of the church.
This project demonstrates our experience in natural stone restoration, stone replacement, repointing, steam cleaning and architectural stonework across Northern Ireland.
