Waterford Medieval Museum

This project originated from a small clay model which we used to create a computerised 3D rendered drawing. This drawing enabled us to cut the bathstone into perfect sections which could then form the amazing structure you see on the façade of the building. The overhang is unique in that the curve features on both the horizontal and vertical planes.
McConnells were not only responsible for the millimetre accuracy of cutting the stone, they also supplied the steel manufacturers with the structural drawings to support the façade.
