Castlereagh Council buildings, Belfast − Northern Ireland

The Offices are serenely set in the Belfast suburbs. Above the entrance the Council crest is a bas−relief carving in Portland Stone measuring 3m x 2.7m and sandstone cladding was machine cut to maintain the seamless lines of the entire structure. An excellent example of synergy between tradition and technology, the crest was cut using laser technology, and hand−carved to create the intricate detail in its three dimensions.
